Kate Waters-Hart, PhD

Dr. Kate is an invaluable resource for the Oase team. Kate worked in a lake industry setting over the past 6 years and currently resides in Scotland, U.K. Kate researched and previously worked with lanthanum-modified bentonite and is experienced in different lake restoration techniques, particularly phosphorus mitigation measures. Her main work areas focus on the causes, effects and restoration of eutrophication impacts in lakes. More specifically, assessing water quality and sediment quality, aquatic macrophyte communities, phytoplankton communities and stress responses in aquatic plants.

Kate completed her PhD research in 2020 which investigated the recovery of aquatic plants following lanthanum-modified bentonite applications based at the U.K. Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and the University of Stirling, Scotland. Kate undertook her MSc at the University of East Anglia in Applied Ecology & Conservation in England.
